Today we braved the crowds on this BIG DAY and headed down to The Capitol. It was an incredible experience and not only because I’ve never stood on line with 4 million people before. I was thrilled to have this opportunity to be witness to such a historic moment and participate in this adventure that was at times thrilling, exhausting, surprising, filled with secrecy and government intrigue and all-around one of the most fun and compelling projects I’ve had the pleasure of undertaking.
It was a wonderful experience just to be here in DC through this exciting, event-filled weekend and even more at the end of the journey to have acheived a task that we only dreamed of last week - To be assured that President Barack Obama will be receiving the Hat that I carried from my basement apartment in Boulder, Colorado, on a plane to Philadelpha, PA, by car to Wilmington, Delaware where I waved it in the air as I spoke to Joe Biden, down to the crowds of Baltimore and finally to DC where I handed it off to a Member of the Obama Inauguration Team for delivery to the President.
Thank you so much to everyone for following us along the way; for your support and enthusiasm; for the wonderful leads and advice you gave us along the way. It has been great hearing from everyone — your feedback really added an extra boost to our days as we came home each day. Thank you again and please buy one of the limited edition Presidential Stetson Hats through our website to benefit Hats Off for Cancer — a major part of our motivation for undertaking this project in the first place.
All the best,
Josh
